Croissant with white poppy seeds and nuts is our interpretation of the croissant świętomarciński, which is already famous not only in Poznań! We’ve eaten the classic croissant more than once in Poznań, and we’ve also watched it being made at the Croissant Museum of Poznań. Our November 11 croissant is a deliciously buttery, crunchy half puff pastry, and inside is a rich filling based on white poppy seeds, hazelnuts and walnuts, marzipan and almonds. We also added orange zest and raisins to the filling and soaked it in amaretto. It is delicious!
